Simplification method?[edit]

What is the logic behind the simplification of the character, which appears to move only the seventh stroke? Does the simplification process take a number of "stroke complexes" and turn them into the "A-frame" structure seen in the simplified character? Jimw338 (talk) 19:02, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Alternative reading "Akira"?[edit]

In the Japanese anime "Space Battleship Yamato 2199", episode 5, around minute 13, a female character writes her name 玲. Someone thinks it's "Rei", but she corrects him saying it's pronounced "Akira". Is this an alternative Japanese reading which should be mentioned here or am I misunderstanding something?
