Basic definition

This term generally applies to any type of movie, whether seen in a theater, on dvd, or on cable tv. For example, here is an on-line cable tv guide. Note that the "movie channels" are listed as 電影台 (电影台, Pinyin: diànyǐngtái). This one is in simplified Chinese.
