@Tooironic, Justinrleung, 沈澄心 The standard Mandarin pronunciation should be Xièzhōu as indicated by Xiandai Hanyu Guifan Cidian and Guoyu Cidian. The xiè reading is in fact the expected reading from Guangyun, which lists two readings for this character:
- 胡買切 蟹小韻 "解，亦姓，自唐叔虞食邑于解，今解縣也。" (homophonous with 蟹 (xiè))
- 胡懈切 邂小韻 "亦縣名，在蒲州。又古賣、古買、胡買三切。" (homophonous with 邂 (xiè)).
The reading hài for 解 appears to me to be a compromise with the local dialectal pronunciation and is probably not standard. RcAlex36 (talk) 17:25, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
