"卩"[edit]

A character which looks very similar to卩 was used as a now eliminated simplified form of 部. The character looks exactly like the bottom component of 节. I think there is a big enough difference between 卩 and the bottom component of 节 that there should be two different pages; just my opinion. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 10:50, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I originally wanted to add this box to the page:
simp. and trad.
alternative forms second round simplified
Problem is, to me, 卩 really really isn't the same thing as the bottom component of 节. So I took it back. Looking forward to updates in character coding. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 06:37, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Is this is the answer? It seems like 部 was changed to something which is identical to the bopomofo symbol ㄗ in/before the second round of simplification. I saw some material with this character printed on it, and it looks just like ㄗ. New Box:
simp. and trad.
alternative forms second round simplified

@Geographyinitiative: This character, although similar in appearance, should not be used to represent this character. It is inappropriate to use a zhuyin fuhao to represent a Chinese character. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 06:14, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The character is an Ext. G candidate, so please wait until that is published (hopefully next year). — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 06:42, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 06:51, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
