廉刀[edit]

@Mlgc1998 Where did you get 廉刀? And what is 腳廉刀? RcAlex36 (talk) 14:24, 27 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@RcAlex36 In ChhoeTaigi, when searching for "liâm-to", this comes up. The "對應華文" meaning says "脛骨". Mlgc1998 (talk) 08:45, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mlgc1998: That doesn't mean 鐮刀 is written as 廉刀. RcAlex36 (talk) 12:46, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36 That's what the word is referring to tho, with the same pronunciation, literally meaning "leg-sickle" in Hokkien. Mlgc1998 (talk) 12:53, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mlgc1998: Where in the source does it say it literally means "leg-sickle"? If it's your own interpretation of the sounds, I don't think it's any evidence. The liâm is more likely the liâm in other words meaning 脛骨, like 跤鼻臁. Even if it is meaning "sickle" in this term, it doesn't mean 廉刀 is independently used for "sickle", which would mean this is not evidence for 廉刀 being a variant of 鐮刀. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 13:44, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
