Japanese etymology[edit]

It appears that MidJ kagerofi might be the original form, with vowel raising which appears in Western OJ. kagerofu might be a vowel raised form that is associated with pJ *poy (fire), which Vovin had noticed when translating MYS book 1 or 2 (wherever kagiropi2 is attested).
