@Aryamanarora Exactly, and the romanization vaẏaṃ is derived from its Brahmi orthography. This page has vaaṃ. So shouldn't the Brahmi orthography have something that indicates the ẏ?
@DerekWinters: If there is, Unicode doesn't have it. The only possibility is a written regular y (but that wouldn't make sense, then it would be vayaṃ) or an unwritten glide i.
