-ție is not a shortened form of -țiune, but rather from a different case. The former comes from the nominative case (which under normal circumstances would have given -țiu), while the latter comes from the accusative (same with -ciune). Ilinca2000 (talk) 09:34, 27 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
