An unsourced etymology[edit]

I want to say that this word in English is influenced by Latin, where Americana would be a hypothetical neuter plural of Americanum, and thus mean "American things". That is probably where it comes from. However I have no sources for this so I will not include it. – Andyluciano 19:29, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
