Anglish (specifically, the translation table)

(I wasn't certain where would be best to bring this concern, so I apologise if it ought to have been brought up elsewhere.)

The translations in the table seem pretty dubious, and a number are recognisable as outright hogwash upon very first glance (such as the supposed Old English translation "Anglisċ"). Moreover, having a set, specific word for this concept strikes me as incredibly modern. I cannot imagine that too many languages would have a precise and set translation for this English-specific term. Tharthan (talk) 18:20, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, in January 2020 an IP added translations in so sundry a convolution of languages that it is impossible for IP to know them but to copy their Wikipedia articles. It is always bewildering how few people realize that Wikipedia terminology is made up. Fay Freak (talk) 18:57, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
The same editor has also filled the translations for Spidey-sense with dubious calques. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:47, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I deleted the whole translation table at Spidey-sense. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:49, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Following Vox's lead, I deleted the whole translation table at Anglish too. All translations were added by that one IP, who just changed the first letter of selected translations of English to "a", or if they already started with "a", didn't change them at all.
