It is at least my humble opinion that Venus (the goddess of beauty and love) doesn't correspond to Frigg (Odin's wife) but to Freya (the goddess of beauty and "love"). In mirror pages, Fredag (Friday, samely translated as "Frigg's Day") is made to descend from Old Norse frjádagr, from PGmc *frijjoz dagaz, but in this page is shown that genitive of Frigg is Friggjar, thus in Old Norse it would have been friggjardagr. In Anglosaxon the word bears a G (Frige-), but with a dot above, pointing out that its pronunciation is like Y (Friye-), as A-S used G to represent Y, rather than it to be derived from Frigg's name. --181.47.159.236 14:30, 11 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
