Airport or City?[edit]

Hello @Geographyinitiative: Since this is under Translingual, I suppose that definition refers to the IATA airport code rather than the city? I feel like if the "IATA abbr. as word referring to the city" thing (e.g. PDX) is sufficiently attested, there should be an English entry. --Frigoris (talk) 12:56, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I do not have any immediate objections to what you are saying. Abbreviations like this are a grey area for me, so please do what you think best. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 12:59, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Geographyinitiative: I was asking because I think you're much better equipped than I am for tasks related to geography and place names. Beyond noticing that the entry PDX isn't really that good an example for a "good entry". --Frigoris (talk) 13:10, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Check out the PDX page now. Is that what you're looking for on the KHH page if KHH can be shown to be used in English to refer to the city and translingually to refer to the airport? --Geographyinitiative (talk) 14:13, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Geographyinitiative, Oh, I really appreciate your improvements to PDX, and here too! And yes, of course _if_ it can be shown to be generalized to a moniker for the city, although I doubt it. --Frigoris (talk) 16:26, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
