1920-1945 Mentions/Usages[edit]

Between 1920 (adoption of the naming 高雄) and Retrocession Day 臺灣光復節台湾光复节 (Táiwān Guāngfùjié) (25 October 1945), I imagine that 'Kaohsiung' and 'Kao-hsiung' might make minor appearances in raw word lists or non-sentences "Kaohsiung" 1943(??), but I doubt anything like the 1939 cite at Citations:Chiayi would appear because the Chinese character term 高雄 is a loan from Japanese.
Earliest confirmed instance: "Kaohsiung" 1945 (post-retrocession) --Geographyinitiative (talk) 19:17, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Taku[edit]

Taku (seemingly the Japanese transliteration for 打狗) may be out there- unclear if there are three cites online [1][2] --Geographyinitiative (talk) 01:05, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
