RfV for nominal sense meaning “Abbreviation of Russian.” (i.e., a native of Russia). I can imagine uses like “He is a Rus. national.”, which as adjectival, but not “He is a Rus.” or whatever. Also, how would the plural be formed? Would it be invariable, would it double the last letter (as *(deprecated template usage) Russ.), would the period be retained or removed, &c.?  (u):Raifʻhār (t):Doremítzwr﴿ 14:41, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think the nominal sense would always be "Russian language", probably never "a native of Russia/a person of Russian ethnicity". Language names are extremely often abbreviated in paper dictionaries, articles on historical linguistics, etc. Angr 21:34, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Noted, though that is use as a proper noun.  (u):Raifʻhār (t):Doremítzwr﴿ 23:30, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
