Even in English the term "commit abortion" would raise eyebrows amongst many. It vertainly should in wikiland because it represents a certain POV (that abortion is/ought to be a crime). Certainly, the Dutch word does not carry that connotation for most of its speakers, so the translation is also inaccurate. Jcwf 22:02, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I imagine he is referring to the fact that commit usually is used for negative acts. Changing it to do will do, I think. What do you all think?​—msh210℠ 15:24, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

I've never heard "do (an) abortion". In my experience the woman has or undergoes an abortion, and the doctor performs an abortion. Just like with less controversial surgeries. But I don't know what "aborteren" or "commit abortion" means, so I don't know which translation is correct. (The first def also leaves it unclear whether you'd say this of the woman or of the doctor.) —Ruakh_TALK 15:54, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
