Talk:apotheosis

this definition of apotheosis makes no sense to me. it is essentially identical to the definition of theosis. but the prefix apo- means "away from," which i associate with "not." so as a matter of logical/linguistic consistency, should not the meaning of apo-theosis be not-deification? or do we just add it to the list of english oxymorons like flammable/inflammable?
