  • Gheg/Tosk explained real quick: The northern albanian (or Gheg) term "arbëN" is equal to Tosk "arbëR" (Tosk; south Alb. main dialect). Arbëreshë and Arvanitic are both southern Albanian dialects, Standard Albanian is mainly based on Tosk. The Tosk dialects went through rhotacism; hence the Gheg n > becomes often in Tosk an r.
  • Gheg arbëN > Tosk arbëR
