to me, a new word might be necessary to discribe the deployment of unwanted ads and trackers: adbait. "bait advertising" discribes the way to fool the user by redirecting to something else than expected. To take it the otherway round, adbaits are offering something wanted, like news etc, while one must accept the tracker etc to be stored in the local browser. Although this might be an acceptable deal for the user to enter a site, there is no word to discribe this sort of contract, so this might be treated similar to "paywall", meaning paying the use of a site not by paying with money but paying with allowence for datastorage and tracking. rgds martin Mhonline (talk) 18:47, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
