American Pronunciation

The vast vast majority of the US use the second pronunciation listed here but oddly enough the way Mia Farrow says basil in Rosemary’s Baby sounds almost English, she uses the first pronunciation! Is this just a one-off personal quirk? It’s also interesting that all of the cast say herb with the h pronounced, I doubt such a situation would occur with a more modern American film but we do already have both pronunciations listed on that page.
