if my husbands sister is married. Is he my brother in law or is he my sister-in-laws husband?

1. Holland is not a country, it should be The Netherlands. 2. In The Netherlands (so in Dutch) we say 'schoonbroer' as well as 'zwager'. Though 'zwager' is more common, no one will notice if you say 'schoonbroer' instead of 'zwager'.
- Holland is not a country if you’re speaking Dutch. If you’re speaking English, then Holland is certainly a country, a synonym for the Netherlands. Holland is the older, more traditional word, also poetic, and the Netherlands is a bit technical-sounding. Explanation of Recent Edit[edit]
Basically, we cannot assume that a word is used that way. We have to take each language individually whether the word for "sister's husband" is also used to mean "brother's husband". Mar vin kaiser (talk) 06:49, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
