- Yes, there are many places you can find the term Buck Hoist. This does not mean it is correct. "Stewart T. Buck" is not a real person. So why is it called Buck Hoist? Its for carrying Bulk Materials. I offer this explanation: Its a lot easier sounding and saying Buck. It just feels right.
