pronunciation

I think in some pronunciations here in the United States at least, cease can be a homophone with seize. I have absolutely no sources for this, other than growing up here and recognizing that many have to be "careful" in their pronunciation in order to dinstinguish the two. –Andyluciano 00:15, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Cease

It is suitable for, but not limited to, formal use. It is often used in legal matters. It can be too pretentious for everyday use in US, IMHO. I don't know how to indicate that. DCDuring 00:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
