@Morgengave, Azertus, Mnemosientje, Rua: I suspect "informal term of abuse for a person of colour" may be a meaning that's only current in Belgium. Also, is this really used of people of colour in general, as opposed to people of African descent or any people with a relatively dark skin colour? ←₰-→ Lingo Bingo Dingo (talk) 17:58, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Lingo Bingo Dingo Afaik, in Belgium, it's an abusive term for a homosexual. I have never encountered the sense of "person of colour", and if you wouldn't have said so, I would have thought that sense would have been Netherlandic. The homosexual sense is also what the Vlaams woordenboek indicates: [1] Morgengave (talk) 19:28, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Strange, both senses feel Belgian to me, even though I didn't know about (or remember) the homophobic slur and if I ever heard the ethnic slur out loud, it must've been less than a handful of times in elementary school. In any case, it's a very offensive term and I marked it as such.
@Lingo Bingo Dingo: the ethnic slur wouldn't be used for a person of Asian descent, for example, but I don't know if we really need to specify that... --Azertus (talk) 22:19, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Azertus I think we kind of do have to specify that. Person of colour is more or less an umbrella term and plenty of peoples around the world can have relatively dark skins, so if it isn't used either for people from Melanesia or for indigenous people from Latin America, the definition would just be plainly incorrect. Thank you for updating the label, by the way.
I must say that the divergent offensive definitions are certainly weird to me, especially because it's such an innocuous, even somewhat cutesy word up north. ←₰-→ Lingo Bingo Dingo (talk) 19:25, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Morgengave Could you add a definition for the homophobic slur? ←₰-→ Lingo Bingo Dingo (talk) 19:37, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Lingo Bingo Dingo Done. Morgengave (talk) 20:14, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
