Sense 2: "Containing clay". This is probably real, but I've never actually come across it. Could somebody cite? Equinox ◑ 01:24, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

- I'm not so sure that the "containing clay" sense is easy to support. What is more clear is the first sense of "resembling clay", which is more in line with the morphology. If the soil had a lot of clay in it, wouldn't it be "clay soil" google books:"clay soil"? DCDuring TALK 01:58, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- It is ambiguous, I guess (since soil that contains clay also tends to resemble clay in certain respects). On the other hand there is also google books:"clayey water". -- Visviva 04:10, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- Why not finesse this on the Webster 1913 model: "Consisting of clay; abounding with clay; partaking of clay; like clay"? DCDuring TALK 02:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
