Old French wider meaning[edit]

In the Norman-French of the Treason Act 1351 in England, the meaning was more than measuring using a compass, as in qant hōme fait compasser ou ymaginer la mort nře Seignr le Roi, and closer to the wider meanings of the English verb compass 2A00:23C6:148A:9B01:8826:1872:82E2:8A6A 16:05, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
