"To make big fuss; to complain about something unnecessary." Equinox ◑ 13:38, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
I found this in the Appendix:Glossary of idioms - C --123.136.107.118 03:56, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
I found a number of cites with a similar meaning, but more like to enrage or agitate. I added those, but complaining and fussing is still unattested. Kiwima (talk) 03:39, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- The 2017 cite doesn't belong with the challenged sense by my lights. DCDuring (talk) 12:55, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- I agree. I'd say it means something like "set the dance floor on fire". --Barytonesis (talk) 13:10, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'd say it belongs with the preceding definition. (It's not usually a good idea to define one metaphor with another!) DCDuring (talk) 13:34, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

My take is that the definition needs tweaking. The previous one has to do with generating emotion. This definition has to do with behaviour (making a fuss, acting out, storming about). Kiwima (talk) 21:09, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
OK, this is now cited. Kiwima (talk) 02:23, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think senses 3 and 4 could be fused though. --Barytonesis (talk) 09:58, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
