Indifference versus pleasure[edit]

These are dramatically different definitions. I personally see the 'pleasure' (sadism, maliciousness) as conforming to the common usage of the world. Surely indifference is a secondary meaning?

Rather than "A and B" is there a more cohesive way we can define this? If cruelty is either indifference or delight to suffering then collectively, could we describe it as a lack of being upset by suffering? Etym (talk) 15:31, 30 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
