@Ysrael214 Where'd you get that? As far as my knowledge is concerned, there is no way "gising" comes from there. The transition from /k/ to /g/, I don't think it exists in Chinese loanwords to Tagalog. Also the nasal sounds never become "ng" into Tagalog. Mar vin kaiser (talk) 15:23, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser Found it in Capampangan Roots: Primitive Words and Syllables from Polynesian-Austronesian, Sanskrit, Chinese and Bahasa Languages as Roots of the Capampangan Language. Though, I don't have access to the main book, I read in a site that provided few examples from there. Then again, that may be wrong. There's also a word "gising" at Potet's Tagalog Borrowings and Cognates when you search for "kinagisnan" but I don't have full access to read the page as I only have Google's preview.
