These definitions are not accurate. the term "hoist by his own petard" refers to being raised by your own gastronomical gasses! In essence, raised up by his own farts! Petard refers to flatulence. — This unsigned comment was added by 2602:306:bc83:3510:949a:936c:891f:2ec7 (talk).
