RHU and Cambridge Dict of Intl English have for fun. RHU also has in fun and like fun. The latter my be US only; it is synonymous with like hell, like fudge etc. DCDuring TALK 15:39, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm struggling to find another noun you can use in the same construction (deprecated template usage) for + (deprecated template usage) noun. You can't do something for laughter or for happiness in the same way you can do something (deprecated template usage) for fun. Mglovesfun (talk) 16:46, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
"For laughs", "for shits", "for yucks" ? Possibly also, "for love", "for revenge"; "for a lark", "for a laugh"; "for the fun of it". DCDuring TALK 17:03, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
"For the hell of it", "for high jinks". Pingku 17:56, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
"for money", "for experience", "for kicks", "for respect" and "for a cheese and ham sandwich" all fit that construction --Rising Sun talk? contributions 18:27, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Deleted (by me, I think). Mglovesfun (talk) 11:11, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
