@Xbypass: Are you sure the Indonesian/Malay word is from Portuguese, instead of some native origin, as assumed on the page of Arabic قَلَعِيّ (qalaʕiyy), and see also the toponym كَلَة (kala) with its odd alternative form قُلْعَة (qulʕa) homonymous to the Arabic word for “fortress” itself of dubious relation to this word?

I fear your Portuguese claim is only copied from a book written by some Western smarty-pants who sorted the words together in his armchair and found it convenient to explain everything from Arabic, because thereby he enters a field with which he does not have to deal with, though the Arabic is probably a borrowing from the area.
