Having been raised in a strict English household, where language and grammar were drilled into us on a permanent basis, "Kind Regards" comes across as being condescending, and implies that I am being kind to you in sending you my regards.

I suspect it's an older sense of the word "kind", meaning "affectionate" or "kindly". Equinox 15:54, 28 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
