It's really the same word spelt as rules would require. "Lay" and "pay" are two regular verbs with irregular spelling. (Mind you, I'm all for irregular verbs as such, but these are just artificially irregularised.) 90.186.83.177 20:42, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
