The origin of serleg is unknown according to G. Zaicz. So it was not the inspiration for mérleg. The base word was mér and Ferenc Toldy added the suffix -leg which was treated at the time, by mistake, as a noun suffix. --Panda10 11:24, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
