Etymology for knees[edit]
I don't trust it myself, but Hotten's slang dictionary says (regarding the "knee" sense): "Supposed to be from Mary Bones, an objectionable term used by the first Protestants in reference to the supposed adoration of the Virgin Mary by Catholics." Equinox ◑ 19:59, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
