I think there are 2 senses of this verb: 1. = be up to par, meet expectations, as in As a son, I don't seem to measure up. 2. = compare to, be as good as, as in His latest book doesn't measure up to the previous ones. please read this too I don't want to edit it before hearing a native speaker's opinion. la la means I love you 08:28, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
