Talk:no mean feat

Wouldn't the word "mean" in this respect be considered "average"? A "mean calculator", mean, median, average.

No, it means "paltry" or "wretched" or "poor". It's not a poor/small feat but a good one, hence no mean feat. Equinox ◑ 15:22, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
