Apparently this is hardly known without the k in either sense (knur, knurr), and when without the k, the r is doubled (nurr). The ball is apparently used in a game called knurr and spell.
I'll leave this RFV open for a little longer in case this info helps any other searchers to find uses of this form. This, that and the other (talk) 12:05, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
