Australian beer sense

The Australian sense "A small beer" just added is very over-simplified. In Australia a pot is either a certain beer glass or a glass of beer in that sized glass. To complicate matters, the style and volume of glass taking the name "pot" (as with the other beer glasses) differs substantially from one state to another. — Hippietrail 08:58, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

"go to pot" etymology

Our entry says it refers to chamber-pots (i.e. go to shit). Chambers 1908 says "originally said of old metal, to go into the melting-pot". Who is right? Equinox ◑ 00:42, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
