Interjection[edit]

Just out of curiosity, do we think that the interjection meaning could have come at least partly from a shortening of "psychedelic" instead of purely from "psych out"? I remember in the 80s people saying "Psych!" as a positive interjection. e.g. "Psych! I just found my bracelet!" Maybe the source of the present meaning is entirely from "psych out", but needed the existence of the previous interjection to gain ground. Soap (talk) 05:46, 2 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
