Rape rack[edit]

This is a made-up term that has never been used by the agriculture industry. If wiktionary is to have any credibility then it needs to be accurate. The term is also highly derogatory to those of us who have suffered actual rape The spanner (talk) 07:49, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@The spanner, what’s inaccurate about this entry? The definition is labelled with slang, not agriculture. — Ungoliant (falai) 15:06, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
There is compelling evidence that the term is used. However, I have yet to find a pure use of the term at Google Books. DCDuring (talk) 11:14, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
"highly derogatory to those of us who have suffered actual rape" is completely meaningless: we define words based on usage and existence and what they mean, and guess what, your feelings don't matter. They really don't. Especially when you're crying rape lies to try to change a wiki page. Disgusting. This is a real phrase. If you dispute it, go through the correct processes and we will prove it is real. Don't be a tacky sneak on the talk page. Equinox 11:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

A farmer uses the slang term in this film. It is not made up. People who claim it is made up (understandably perhaps) are people who work in the industry as they want to avoid embarrassment. https://www.popmatters.com/175439-against-cult-cinema-documentarian-didacticism-and-the-animals-film-2495722517.html?rebelltitem=1#rebelltitem1

An anon seems to think this is not correct. SemperBlotto (talk) 07:57, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Mentions are readily found at Google Books in books about the evils of human treatment of animals in food production and experimentation. Unsurprisingly, it's hard to find pure uses. DCDuring (talk) 11:18, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
"One pig farmer offhandedly jokes about his “rape rack”, the metal bars to which sows are fastened and which allow neighboring male pigs to anally or vaginally abuse the females at will." As seen in "The Animals Film"
