After checking my large print dictionary I have found an alternate meansing of defecate (which I will add there) meaning to purify (privative de- + feces, to remove feces or impurities). However, this is so odd a usage that I have removed the part of the definition that said "to defecate;" (I originally thought a vandal had slipped this in, but it's legit. Hoever, it's legit but confusing).
