In light of the latest reversion [1], I am starting up a discussion on the term's talkpage. Semperblotto, you are reverting the word back to an incorrect definition as "resent" does not only apply to displeasure but a specific kind of displeasure and anger that is brought on by a perceived sense of offense or insult as is proven by all these dictionaries:

http://www.yourdictionary.com/resent

http://dictionary.infoplease.com/resent

http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/DictionaryResults.aspx?lextype=3&search=resent

My definition highlighted this so please discuss before reverting legitimate edits or provide an edit summary from now on. Thank you! 65.31.103.28 09:55, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hmm! I didn't realize synonyms had to be of the same part of speech. I thought it was sufficient if they just had the same definition. Looking through dictionaries, it certainly does seem as if synonyms used in this manner have to be of the same part of speech. I will remove indignation from the definition. Also, please be willing to state your reasoning for reverting in edit summaries. Oftentimes, I just see that you've made reversions with no attempt at explanation so I never know why the reversions. As it seems you have a logical explanation in most cases as you did here, I don't understand the problem with a quick edit summary so I can address and rectify whatever issue you have. 65.31.103.28 16:34, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation[edit]

The IPA looks wrong, maybe that's the 1913 pronunciation but I don't know anyone would would pronounce with the long i. I' think I pronounce /rəzɛnt/ (ignoring the different r's). Mglovesfun (talk) 08:59, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fails, see above or Talk:resentful if it's been archived. Mglovesfun (talk) 09:04, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

So you are an ass then, I fear that this vehicle is useless and will self-destruct with arrogance like yours

Again, you want #Roubini above. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:45, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Striking (failed), per Mglovesfun's comment above. —RuakhTALK 23:23, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
