Excuse me, in reading a copy of a translation of "Beowulf," by Rosemary Sutcliff, I found mention of the word "saex" being used in the manner of it being a weapon: "He [Beowulf] stumbled beneath her [Sea-hag] onslaught and she flung him down with her on top of him, stabbing again and again at his breast with a saex, her broad-bladed dagger. 66.90.150.70 23:53, 25 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
