What about the alternative form of genitive plural sankarten? I have no idea if it is given in newest dictionaries or not, but it can easily be found on the Internet with Google. So, it is real, and it should be mentioned (as an exception). Because of this form, sankari represented a special type of declension in older dictionaries.
