I absolutely fucking give up. Despite comparison to other extant pages and use of help sheets ([this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_templates] and several others), I cannot for the life of me get the following citation to actually appear (stripping of <refz> </refz> [sic] and curl brackets intentional:

cite journal | last = Safire | first = William | author-link = William Safire | title = Clichés for '06 | journal = The New York Times | date = January 1 2006 | year = 2006

Moreover, I haven't even tried to insert the ["link to the damned article" http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/01/magazine/01wwln_safire.html].

Christ, I can't even get the link buttons to work! I'm not even going to TRY to figure out how this is done. This is CRAZY-MAKING. Wikipedia and Wikitionary's help pages are not useful. Simple, automated editing tools (buttons!) are required. Mikalra 16:21, 10 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Here we have a citations tab where you can put quotes found in books. You should see the citations tab at the top of the page. See for example Citations:rain cats and dogs, and read Wiktionary:Citations. —Stephen 20:10, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
