@Catrìona, Embryomystic, MacTire02: Is this the correct standard Scottish Gaelic spelling? I would have expected sboran as I thought gd eschewed sp- spellings. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 15:46, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Angr Gaelic got rid of almost all the sb and sd spellings in the GOC spelling reform, including this one. See [the official pdf https://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/45356.2871.html]. Catrìona (talk) 00:23, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Btw the Gaelic dictionary on learngaelic.net are usually reliable (and follow the spelling reform, faclair.com is more reliable for other questions) and I can email you a pdf of Colin Mark's dictionary if you plan to continue work on our Gaelic entries (which is much needed) --thank you for the work you have been doing. The IPA transcriptions on both web dictionaries are almost always right, although they need a bit of tweaking to get standard IPA. Catrìona (talk) 00:28, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Catrìona: OK, thanks for the info. I don't intend to work much on Gaelic, as I know Irish much better and Irish (incl. Middle and Old Irish) is more than enough to keep me busy for a lifetime. But I'll keep those links in mind for times when I encounter a Gaelic entry that makes me suspicious. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 07:50, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
