I do not know how to add this translation: "swish" (verb) to Portuguese

The swish word, as a verb, does not have a Portuguese translation to another word, not directly. But it is translated as an expression: fazer um xuá, which is equivalent to "to swish".

This expression is like a verb, and as such, it has its conjugations. They are simple to do: only the first word, fazer, is conjugated/changed, with the same conjugations the fazer verb has. The "verb expression" may have all variations, for all kind subjects, and all kinds of tenses. Some examples:

• "I will switch 3 times in this game!" is equivalent to "Eu farei um xuá 3 vezes neste jogo!" (uses farei conjugation)

• "She could not switch yesterday, unfortunately." is equivalent to "Ela não pôde fazer um xuá ontem, infelizmente."

• "All the team swished!" is equivalent to "Todo o time fez um xuá!"

Putting only the infinitive expression, which is fazer um xuá, is enough for the translation section of articles?

So the conjugations of the expression should be put in its own article?

I don't really speak Portuguese, but it looks like is just using fazer to make a verb out of the noun. Since you can do that with lots of nouns, we probably don't want an entry for the phrase- if you know how to use fazer, you know how to say "fazer um [X]", where [X] could be almost any noun for an action that agrees with um. I don't add many translations, myself, but I suppose the way to add it as a translation would be to link to the parts of the phrase using square brackets: {{t|pt|[[fazer]] [[um]] [[xuá]]}} or {{t|pt|[[fazer]] um [[xuá]]}}, which will tell the template not to link to the whole phrase. I notice that we have an entry for xuá, but not quite with that meaning. Chuck Entz (talk) 01:12, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
