Pronunciation[edit]

  • Does it really have an /ɛ/ between two stressed vowels? Merriam Webster says /ə/ and Oxford Dictionaries says /ɪ/
  • The aforementioned dictionaries give the endings /ʒə/ ~ /ʒiə/ and /zɪə/. We only give the first.
  • I’ve heard this with /saɪ-/ a couple of times. Is it nonstandard? Is it common enough to list?

I agree that it's not /ɛ/ unless the speaker is speaking very carefully. Unlike other words, I've personally never heard the /-ʒiə/ or /-ziə/ endings for synaesthesia. But that doesn't mean they don't exist. --WikiTiki89 15:40, 29 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
