- In many Judaeo-Christian religious books uncircumcised ones/peoples is used in opposition to circumcised ones/peoples, but mostly in a biblical, historic context, when no non-Jews were (known to be) circumcised. If the term were found to be used to refer to non-Jews in times and places in which some non-Jews were circumcised, we could support some of the definition. Something similar might be done with respect to Muslims. My review of 21st century usage finds almost no unambiguous usage of this kind, except that in some religious commentary uncircumcised is synonymous with gentile, without regard to circumcision actually being widespread among non-Jews. This is difficult, because many texts are somewhat fluid in the boundaries between the meanings not physically circumcised, not Jewish, and unclean. However, I believe this is now cited. Kiwima (talk) 02:37, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
